Positive retail trends to drive record turnout at Middelburg Mall this festive season
With this level of success, it is little wonder that Middelburg Mall Centre Manager Mike Tammadge has a positive outlook for retail, both in South Africa and at Middelburg Mall.
In fact, with the mall's longer holiday shopping hours, he is expecting a record turnout this festive season. .
Middelburg Mall wins Retail Design and Development Award (RDDA)
The RDDA awards recognise exceptional shopping centre design, and economic success, within the South African property industry. The awards, sponsored by Nedbank Corporate Property Finance, celebrate shopping centre development excellence.
Saluted for its outstanding design and function, Middelburg Mall in Mpumalanga won the RDDA Award for a shopping centre larger than 20,000sqm, to the credit of architect MDS Architecture and developers Flanagan & Gerard and Moolman Group. In this category, judges also commended Greater Edendale Mall in KwaZulu-Natal, developed by McCormick Property Development with architect MDS Architecture.
More fun and entertainment for Middelburg Mall
Bringing even more entertainment to the region, Gold Rush Gaming opens at Middelburg Mall on 1 November 2012.
Middelburg Mall Centre Manager Mike Tammadge says Gold Rush Gaming’s new gaming and bingo outlet at Middelburg Mall answers the call for more entertainment from Middelburg residents and visitors.
“Increasing the leisure choices at Middelburg Mall, Goldrush Gaming is bringing a new, fun dimension to the shopping centre with its exciting concept and top-notch setting,” says Tammadge.
Beauties & Teddies
The beauties from Middelburg joined with Middelburg Mall, Build-A-Bear Workshop and Spur to treat young ones of Belfast Orphanage.
Flanagan & Gerard is set for another
ground-breaking year...
With two new mall openings this month, its existing portfolio delivering strong positive trade and a duo of major developments in the pipeline.
2012 sees two new gems added to the Flanagan & Gerard retail chest. The eagerly awaited 43,000m² Middelburg Mall and 23,000m² Nicolway Bryanston.

Middelburg Mall opens fully let
The fully let 43,000m² Middelburg Mall regional shopping centre in Mpumalanga opened its doors on the 19th April, bringing comprehensive, quality shopping to the growing and ever more affluent consumers of Middelburg and its surrounds.
Developed by Flanagan & Gerard and Moolman Group, construction of the R500 million shopping centre took 14 months. It was successfully completed on schedule.
With nearly half a million shoppers in its first three weeks after opening on 19 April, Middelburg Mall has become an instant success. Now it has announced longer shopping hours to meet the needs of its customers...
Highveld Mall
Flanagan & Gerard seem to have their finger on the pulse of consumer and retailer demands as once again they have seen that gap in the market as development of the new wing of Highveld Mall is just months from opening up with an additional 11 300m² section with 25 new exciting stores as well as improved access and more parking, much to the excitement of management and customers alike.
With every endeavour to minimize the disruption to current customers visiting the mall as
well as tenants, all remains on schedule to open on the 25th October 2012.
